Ph.D PhD Positions in Colour Printing 7.0 Next Generation Multi-Channel Printing

at Gjøvik University College in Norway

The Norwegian Color Research Laboratory at the Faculty of Computer Science and Media Technology in Gjøvik University College invites applications for two 3-year full-time early stage researcher (PhD) positions in the context of the EU-funded Marie Curie Initial Training Network project entitled Colour Printing 7.0: Next Generation Multi-Channel Printing (CP7.0).

The two early stage researchers will work on two distinct but related fields of research within the CP7.0 project:

  • Position 1: Spectral modelling for multi-channel printers and displays.
  • Position 2: Design and development of spectral colour management workflows.

Conditions
The positions are remunerated according to salary level 48 in the Norwegian national salary scheme, gross NOK 391 300 per annum, of which 2% is deducted for the State Pension scheme.

Eligibility regulations
In accordance to the eligibility regulations for Marie Curie ITNs imposed by the EU, the early stage researchers to be appointed must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host organisation’s country (Norway) for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the appointment date. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

In addition, applicants for the early stage researcher positions should fulfill the following conditions:

  • Must have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree,
  • Must be, at the time of recruitment, in the first four years (full time equivalent) of their research careers, measured from the date they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate,
  • Should hold a good postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Printing Science, Colour Imaging, or other relevant field.
